Vincent Joseph was born and raised in Modesto, California the birthplace of the acclaimed George Lucas. Growing up, Vincent had a passion for two things. He had a passion for serving his country and a passion for film. After graduating from Modesto Christian High School in 2001 he attended the University of Arizona where he served in the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) detachment located at the university. After graduating from the University of Arizona with a degree in Media Arts in 2006, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. In November, 2006 he attended Infantry Officer Training at The Basic School (TBS) in Quantico where he completed the rigorous course near the top of his class. After graduating from TBS he attended flight training in Pensacola, Florida where he graduated 2nd in his class and subsequently selected the AH-1W Super Cobra attack helicopter. He served 3 deployments with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469 (HMLA-469) during his tour. The first deployment took him to mainland Japan where he provided humanitarian aid and search and rescue support during the Japan Nuclear Reactor Crisis in 2010. Upon returning from the deployment he departed to the volatile Helmand Province of Afghanistan where he provided Close Air Support (CAS) for troops caught in heavy combat during the fighting season. Vincent Joseph was awarded the Individual Action Air Medal for heroic actions during a lifesaving mission in Afghanistan during his tour as a Super Cobra Pilot. Having served his squadron with distinction, Captain Joseph received orders to serve as an Aviation Advisor to the Commanding General of forces in Helmand Province for his 3rd and final deployment. After Returning from deployment in 2014, Captain Joseph decided to depart the Marine Corps in pursuit of his film making dream
